Jan 2026: City Lit Theatre Company. “We Love Then We Drown”, A new original play by Ruth Gilligan. Directed by Adam Radford. John Lyon’s Theatre, Covent Garden, London. We Love Then We Drown asks urgent questions about how we continue to live - and love - in a time of crisis. Through intertwined vignettes, the play explores themes of motherhood, empirical fact versus innate love, the fundamental resilience of memory and, ultimately, hope. Played ‘Catherine’, one of three leads depicting Catherine at various life stages. Reviewer: “Many congratulations Ruth (writer) a great production, a captivating story, and Clare such stage presence!” “What a role to carry.” “We were so moved and electrified by your performance.”

Dec 2025: City Lit Theatre Company. “Hamlet”, by William Shakespeare. Directed by James Jarrett. John Lyon’s Theatre, Covent Garden, London. Various roles including the Queen and First Gravedigger.

Nov 2025: City Lit Radio Theatre Company. “The Magistrate”, by Arthur Wing Pinero. Directed by David Gooderson. Played Charlotte Verrinder. A radio play farce that concerns a respectable magistrate who finds himself caught up in scandalous events that threaten to disgrace him.

Jul 2025: City Lit Theatre Company. “Metamorphoses”, by Mary Zimmerman. Directed by Sean Croft. John Lyon’s Theatre, Covent Garden, London. Played Bacchus and ‘A’.

Jul 2025: City Lit Radio Theatre Company. “You Never Can Tell”, by George Bernard Shaw. Directed by David Gooderson. A radio play recorded before a live audience. Played Dolly.

Feb 2025: “Macbeth”, by William Shakespeare. Directed by Jayne Denny. Played Lady Macbeth.

May 2024: City Lit Theatre Company. Experiment with an Air Pump”, by Shelagh Stephenson. Suzannah Fenwick. Lead female.

Feb 2024: Ladies Day. BEST ACTOR NOMINATED. OSO Theatre, South-West London. Played ‘Jan’, one of four leads. Reviewer: “A lovely performance from a talented actor. Jan’s drunk scenes were not overplayed for laughs; her love interest was played with honest sincerity.”

Nov 2023: The Unexpected Guest, Agatha Christie. Radio play. Played (another) Jan, a teenager with special needs.

Jun 2023: The Incident Room”, playing Yorkshire Ripper survivor ‘Maureen Long’. Reviewer: “Of note is the relationship between Maureen Long (Clare Catford), a victim of the Ripper who survived the attack, and the police chief. Catford’s authenticity and comic/tragic performance, prompted tears and tissues in my row. No mean feat on a damp summer night.” ‘Maureen’ performance prompted a request to audition for ‘Agnes’. professional role in play, ‘Sabbath’, at the OSO Theatre.
